of this evaluation, Sunnyview's speech and language pathologists
examine the patient's ability to speak and hear and also the patient's
ability to swallow.
If Sunnyview's speech
and language pathologists determine that a person
cannot swallow properly due to an illness or injury, they may order a
videofluoscopy for the patient. By using state-of-the art equipment,
this test examines the swallowing process and assists Sunnyview
professionals in devising a treatment plan to address swallowing issues.
Additionally, inpatients can receive:
--hearing tests
--speech development assessments
--language comprehension evaluations
--cognitive (i.e., ability to correlate language with the thought
process) evaluations
